Statement of Our Purpose

To pray for the continued spiritual growth, health and well-being of parishioners and their families. That through prayer we may ourselves grow closer to God and become more like Christ in the service of others.

Meeting Time:
The prayer group meets regularly following the 11:15am Worship Service on Sunday.

So, What is Prayer?
Remember, Christ taught his disciples to pray. In His three years of ministry a great deal of instruction and comment was given by our Lord on the subject of prayer.

Principle Characteristics:
· prayer is fellowship (companionship) with the unseen, Most Holy One

· prayer ought to be a dialogue, that is to say, we not only talk but it is essential to listen to God and to watch and wait for Him
· prayer places you in communion with God through Christ who is the connection between the invisible network which He describes as the vine and the branches.

Prayer connects us with Christ and through Him to all praying Christians everywhere. Remember the words of our Lord: "Whereversoever two or three are gathered in my name, their will I be in the midst of them."

Why Should I Pray?
· prayer for believing Christians is the means of all blessings, that is to say, through prayer the powers of the Eternal world are placed at our disposal through effectual prayer

· because it is the essence of true religion, it is God's sign of presence in our midst

As an act of worship practised by a believer it is a gift God has given us to take hold of Him and His strength for the purpose of effecting real change in the spirtual and physical world.
